Run With Fashion

So I've got a lot of news to fill you in or rather show! ;D

First, my summer break officially started this wk for me, it actually started last Friday, but I still had to finish up some assignments, my teachers were nice enough to extend the deadlines... :D phew! So I feel free now, & can move on with blogging! :D
♥
I was suuuper buuuusy with my classes this semester, especially my illustration class, I absolutely LOVED IT, and was so dedicated to that class, that I pretty much gave alll my attention to it and actually paid little to almost no attention to my other classes until the last minute, haha. :P
So on the subject of illustration, I can't waiiiit to show you all the stuff I did, and a dream I have been wishing and wanting since I was a teenager, that I FINALLY GOT TO ACHIEVE! :D
And that dream was to put my own illustrations onto tshirts & I CAN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU GUYS!!! :D I'm sooo happppy about them, if you guys follow me already on instagram, you already have seen 2 of the screen printed illustration tshirts :D ♥

But first, I'll start with an outfit post, that I actually forgot to post that happened last month! :S I took the outfit pictures and meant to show you guys, but ugh, I totally forgot, sorry about that!
And then I'll show you guys my illustrations that are fashion related that I did in my illustration class! :D
♥
That's pretty much it, and by the way, I made an art blog on tumblr, so if you guys love my art work, and would like to keep an eye on what I create, you can follow my art tumblr  :)

Hi guys!

I have something cool to share with you! :)

Warby Parker has a new Spring collection called, Spectrum Sun!
If you guys haven't heard of Warby Parker, they're a eye wear brand, that sells prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses and all their eye wear starts at $95! Pretty nice huh?! ;)
Also, what's nice about the brand is that they will let you do a home try-on test, which means, you can pick out 5 EYE WEARS OF YOUR CHOICE, free shipping to you, and you'll have 5 DAY'S to test out your picks, return them to Warby Parker with free shipping and head on over to their site and purchase the eye wear that you loved from the home try on test, and they will ship it right over to you! ISN'T THAT NEAT?! I LOVE THAT IDEA! That's one of my fav things about Warby Parker, having that option makes things a lot easier, won't you say?  Because I wear eye glasses and I must say I am tempted to try the home try on test, I will def. keep Warby Parker in mind for the future of picking out new eye glasses! :D

But on to the spring collection, Spectrum Sun, it's fun and stylish, and I absolutely love the colors of the frames and lenses, and what I noticed about the lenses were that they weren't so opaque, it's semi transparent which is nice, perfect for spring, as the sun won't be too sunny and bright, blinding you in your eyes, lol. ;D

So say goodbye to cold days, because the sun is making it's way to us, or shall I say our eyes?! ;D

I LOVE HALL SO MUCH!! I love the color of the frame, I love that it's clear, and love the ombre color in the lens, I think it's pretty and so PERFECT for spring! :D ♥♥♥♥

Minnie for me is like a classic sunnie, I just love the circular frames (I'm a big fan), love the stripped sassafras, the ombre colored lens, it's just so stylish! Love it soo much!!♥♥♥♥

Piper, who can ever say no to black sunnies right?! ;D

I love black sunnies, especially when they have a thick frame, it just stands out for me.

Piper is a understated cat-eye with a sloping browline, I think it's so nice. :)

When I first saw Downing it quickly gave off a vintage vibe. Like how thin the frame is, and for some reason the blue colored lens, it goes nicely with the colors of the frame. :)

*Which pair of  sunglasses do you guys like from the Spectrum Sun collection? :)*

Betsey Johnson Sample Sale

♥Betsey Girls Just Wanna Have Fun♥

The background was supposed to be colored, but I couldn't decide on the color >.<

OMG Betsey Johnson Sale!

I did these 3 illustrations for my illustration class like last wk I think. Anyways the assignment was to make a poster about an event either music or anything that interests us, or we can make up an event for something.

So I chose FASHION OF COURSE! ;) And at first I wanted to do a poster for a fashion show, but I don't know I wasn't getting much ideas, until one day I went on my instagram, scrolled down my feed and BOOM! I saw a pic by Betsey Johnson and then it hit me, DUH!! BETSEY JOHNSON!!! I SHOULD DO A POSTER ON HER!  :D  Her fashion always makes me happy, and it's always youthful and just FUN!! And for this assignment, I was def. aiming for fun and youthfulness, so yeah, how perfect. :D

So even though I found my inspiration, I was still having problems doing a fashion show poster on Betsey Johnson, I mean I had some ideas, but I don't know, wasn't sure about the direction , I guess? OH WELL, I changed my mind and decided to make a poster for a Betsey Johnson store sale instead, I felt I could have a lot of fun with it, and I felt a lot more free with my ideas. :D

All the clothes drawn on the illustrated "posters" are actual clothes, shoes, & accessories from Betsey Johnson. :D I enjoyed drawing the dresses, ALWAYS FUN! ♥

These are all composition ideas, so I will be finalizing one of them which is the 1st poster, and will be silk screened on to WOOD! :D I'm gonna do a giant dress, haha. :)

I'll keep you guys updated on this assignment, hopefully it turns out good *crosses fingers* because, I'm a lil nervous, this would be my 1st time silk screening, and well, I just want to do a good job, you know? :)

So in my other post, I told you guys that I'll show you my first stop motion video I did, and here it is! :D

I did this for my illustration class last month, I had to illustrate the words, Time & Opposition, and I came up with 3 ideas, and this was one of them, but it was in a comic version. I came up with this idea because, well, I don't like time, so I was thinking to myself, what if the numbers of a clock were alive, how would they feel? Would they feel like their in jail, being in the clock? What if one day one of the numbers decided to escape from the clock, and all the other numbers saw that number escaping and they're like cool, I want to be free as well! So they all escaped when the hand strikes their number. So that was the whole concept behind my stop motion video. :)

I did everything by hand, I had to make 2 sets of numbers, numbers without feet and hands and another set with numbers with hands and feet. It was TIRING!!! But they turned out pretty cute :D
I took like around 300 pictures? And edited them on photoshop cs6 and made the video on there, I also found the sound effects from freesound.org and some other site, and added them to my video. :)
I learned a lot from making this stop motion video, it was frustrating because I encountered a couple problems and had to figure them out on my own on ps cs6. But I learned from those mistakes, and I def. want to continue and make more stop motion videos, soooo you guys will def. see more stop motion videos from me in the near future! ;)

I hope you guys enjoy it or like my video! :)

blogging, I miss fashion, I miss it all.

Hey everyone,

I decided to make a unplanned post, because I want to let you guys know what's going on with me, and why I haven't been blogging. The last post I did was in August 2013....YIKES! O.o Once my uni started in late August, I got busy with school, I'm a art major, and well, I place my education higher than blogging, I put it first, sooo I really have no time for blogging, because my art classes/assignments mean a lot to me, and I really want to always do my BEST on each assignment, as I want to become a better artist.

Now, even though I'm focused on my studies, it doesn't mean, I want to say goodbye to blogging, I don't. I can't let go of Run With Fashion, I worked hard for it, it's my baby, and I do miss it, I miss blogging so much, it actually makes me sad :( .  I actually wanted to come back to blogging in January, I wanted to start 2014 fresh, and what better way, than giving my blog a new look, right?!

I wanted to update my blogs layout look, because I was getting tired of it, it's boring, it's blah and outdated!

And I found a layout over January, and I'm so in love with it! It's a white layout, it's clean, and it's modern, and Anna loved it as well! Thankfully the layout is free, because, the layout looks so pro, and most good layouts are for pay. But, I ran into a problem, after downloading the layout, I can't install it on blogger?! I'm having trouble, installing it to blogger. I don't see the code that came with the download, I don't see anything! I'm really frustrated with it, I feel lost with it, and just a big I DON'T KNOW! I contacted the designer of the layout, and haven't heard anything from him since January :( I'm so sad about that :( I WANT THAT LAYOUT!!! Ugh >.<  Times like this, really makes me wish I knew how to design a layout, haha >.<  If anyone is a genius at installing layouts, PRETTY PLEASE CONTACT ME, AND HELP OUT A FELLOW BLOGGAH SISTA OUT! :D *pretty pleeeeeaseee* :)

I also want to share some stuff that are going on with me, besides school.....

there was some big thing that happened to me last December (I believe it was), I'm not quiet sure if I want to really open up about the situation with you guys, like getting into detail about it, but I came across something over the net, that has to sorta deal with my blog and some other blogger and well it really broke my heart, and it honestly felt like death to my blog

I questioned, if I should continue on with blogging or not, a part of me wanted to continue on with my blog, and a part of me felt like my blog like died, like I lost it ;( .  That was the other thing that got in the way of wanting to blog, besides school. I just felt sick to my stomach from the discovery I found on the net, I was heart broken, emotional, half dead like within.

I'm still heart broken & deeply hurt about the situation, but decided, that I want to continue on with Run With Fashion, regardless of the other blogger.

Now, since that situation happened in December, I started to question about continuing on with blogging or not, as I mentioned above, and I was also questioning about blogging in general. There are some things, that I dislike about blogging and then there are things that I love about blogging. My fav part about blogging, is sharing with my followers, creative stuff I do, to my thoughts on things that interest me and my opinions, and it's a really great way to meet other girls that share the same interests as you, it's fun, and blogging has def. opened up my eyes, to the world! It's amazing, the power of blogging!

Now, the part I realllly dislike hate about blogging, this part really GETS TO ME, I feel like, every since blogging has gotten really popular, it seems, that some bloggers are only after themselves. What do I mean by that, you may wonder, well, let me tell you, when bloggers leave SHITTY COMMENTS like, "Hey cool blog, come check out mines and please follow me" or "Come check out my new post (insert their blog link)" like this commenter, doesn't even BOTHER to read MY POST, but has the NERVE to ask me to check out their new post! LIKE WTF?! I HATE...NO WAIT, HATE IS TOO WEAK, MORE LIKE LOATHE, I LOATHE SHITTY BLOGGERS who come onto my blog, and don't even bother to read my post, but have the nerve to ask me to check out their blog and on top of that, they fuckin BEG me to follow their freakin blog! Asking, other bloggers to follow your blog, to me equals begging, and I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE WHO DOES THAT TEENAGE CRAP! PLEASE...that shit is ridiculous, grow the fuck up! >:@  And on my last post, that I did on August, I had a female commenter, who wrote a FAKE COMMENT, saying within the lines of "nice outfit, check out my blog please" ....... -.-....my post wasn't a outfit post, it was a ART POST! >.<.

I question the authenticity of bloggers today, not alll bloggers, just some bloggers out there, are really after themselves, and only care of being popular it seems, and I fuckin hate that. I remember when blogging was new, and not everyone was into it, I remember making the discovery of fashion blogs, my first one, Fashion Toast, and I would look at the comments and I don't ever remember seeing fake comments, they were real. Nowadays, some bloggers see the comment box as a way only to promote THEIR BLOG, like they don't bother leaving a decent REAL COMMENT, it's allll about them! BS I SAY! >.<

It honestly angers me sooo much! It's really the only thing I LOATHE ABOUT BLOGGING! *sigh* :(

Where are all the real bloggers at?!

And one last thought about blogging, I'm thinking of having a new direction with my blog?

1. I still want to occasionally do outfit photos

2. I want to do video posts, creative wise, I want to do DIY's and other creative videos :)

I will be sharing my first serious stop motion video soon, and can't wait! :D

Lastly, I will continue to show and share my art, with you guys, because it's a talent and who wouldn't like seeing talent? Right?! ;)

And I believe that is all I have to say,

I was actually doing my readings for my art history class earlier, but I couldn't focus, because, fashion slipped into my mind, and I became sad, and I thought, I'M JUST GONNA BLOG! lol

And it feels good to blog again, FINALLY! ;)

I feel 10 pounds lighter, after getting all these thoughts and feelings outta ma system! :D

Rebecca Minkoff, Tumblr and Nordstroms came together to do a talent search through tumblr, looking for Artist, Models and Photographers.

The Artists had to design a tee shirt & canvas tote inspired by Rebecca Minkoff, and I guess Nordstrom's  favorite type of woman: Strong & Feminine. The winning t-shirt will be walked in Rebecca Minkoff's Spring 2014 show at New York Fashion Week and it will be sold at Nordstrom the same day and they will get $5,000.

The Model will have the opportunity to star in a national fashion campaign for Rebecca Minkoff and Nordstrom, featuring the winning t-shirt and tote designs, and they will get $5,000

The Photographer, will have the opportunity to shoot a nation fashion campaign for Rebecca Minkoff and Nordstrom, starring the winning model and the t-shirt and tote designs, they will also get $5,000.

Prettty awesome right?!

So I had to join the talent search contest, and these are my designs that I came up with of a strong & feminine woman. :)

The way the woman is being posed is to suggest a strong personality, and the color red means strength, and the flowers and the floral pleated soft dress is to symbolize femininity. :)

I'm sooooo in loooove with the tote bag! ♥♥♥♥

They're all hand drawn by me, inked in a pigment linear marker and colored with watercolors. The dress is designed by me, and the tote bag I drew in adobe illustrator, and as for the t-shirt template I got that for free from American Apparel :D

♥

The winners were announced today around noon, you guys can read it on Rebecca Minkoff's Tumblr.

♥

Even though I didn't win, I still feel like, I sorta won in some ways,  because Rebecca Minkoff got to see my work!!! :D Right?! So that's awesome! I wish I could have been invisible and be in the room of the judges (being Rebecca Minkoff, David Karp CEO of tumblr and Jeffrey Kalinsky, executive Vice President of Designer Merchandising for Nordstrom), and hear what they had to say about my work ^^ lol, I'M JUST WONDERING, THAT'S ALL! :)

And also, I won courage and confidence to enter MY FIRST CONTEST! And I'm proud of myself for finally mustering up and doing this, because I've always felt discouraged to enter contests, because I felt I wasn't good enough, because there are artists that are way better than me, and that I won't win.

TRUTH IS....THERE ARE ARTISTS BETTER THAN ME, BUT....I thought to myself, "I shouldn't let that get to me....because, the judges have preferences too, and who know's they can like a illustration that's very loosely drawn, more like expressionist style of illustration over a illustration that's tightly drawn and "perfect" looking, you know? Some people will look at a art work, that looks like a 5 yr old drew/painted and they'll be like, THIS IS ART, THIS IS MAGNIFICENT! Over an art work that looks so skilled. So, you never know, you might just win."  That's what I was thinking, and decided to just go for it, even if I won't win, I just wanna try out for it.
And you know what?! I'M GLAD I TRIED OUT FOR IT!!!
Because I created a illustration that I'm in love with, specifically...the TOTE BAG!
I LOVE IT! I want to bring this baby to life and try to sell it, the t-shirt and the tote bag. :)
♥
Sooooo....if anyone is interested in either the shirt or the tote bag, I will keep you guys updated on when it's in the process of getting made and will let you know how much it will cost, you can email me @ runwithfashion@yahoo.com, saying you're interested in my strong and feminine woman t-shirt or tote bag design, and I will keep you updated. :)))
